This is a mixtape by OVO but it might as well come forth as an album. Everything good about this album is in every song. Like any classic album i’ve ran across, it was boring at first. Especially Toosie Slide .Trust me this is my process. After random single plays and finally whole album listen i got around to make it my top 5 albums thus far 2020. The vibe on pain 1993 set the pace for me.
Carti is one of my classic rappers and his voice and delivery hit. The chorus is catchy and talks about not needing recognition from people about his success. He has made it and he knows it. He is kind of tryna keep it gangster but boujee as he evens keeps their pockets greased up. It is continuously hinted on D4l when he raps about his label and future and young thug brag about there’s too. Here they all go ham! Especially Future with the prrr and thugger eating carlamari . Definitely my best song. On songs like CHICAGO FREESTYLE he samples the lyrics bitches they come they go, Saturday sunday Monday, but manages to make the song catchy with Giveon bringing in a melodious hook. I can go on ranting about the trendy toosie slide that is a dance song and Drake’s ablum technique (every album, dance song). Desires features trap god Future who switches up his trap flows to r n b. They talk about how their bitches finna have needs they got to meet even before the first kiss. Time flies brings in a Drake that’s just tired of it all but still brags about his cars to those his tired of. Landed and War are some other hard club bangers.a whole album worth the listen.
